FC Kansas City Hosts North Carolina - Game Rescheduled from 7/22
KANSAS CITY (August 9, 2024) – FC Kansas City will take on the North Carolina Courage in a rare midweek home game tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. CT. This game was originally scheduled for July 22nd but was rescheduled after severe weather hit the area in the 39th minute. That match was abandoned and tomorrow night’s match will start from the beginning.
Last week the Blues earned a 2-2 draw with the Boston Breakers in their first positive result since June 24th. Maegan Kelly scored the opening goal of the match early with a great build up from Desiree Scott and Christina Gibbons. Boston’s Rosie White then went on a ten-minute tear that saw her score two goals in opposite corners of the net. The Blues were able to equalize late in the match when rookie Sydney Miramontez, in her first career start, found Erika Tymrak for a long-distance goal.
North Carolina has been at or near the top of the NWSL table throughout the 2024 season. They regained the top spot last week with a 1-0 win at home over the Seattle Reign. They are led offensively by Ashley Hatch and Lynn Williams who each have four goals. However, their on-field pay always seems to go through midfielder Samantha Mewis.
Fans who had tickets for the original July 22nd game can use their same tickets for entry into the match tomorrow night. Tickets can also be purchased here.
