FC Kansas City signs goalkeeper Cat Parkhill
KANSAS CITY (June 11, 2024) — FC Kansas City announced the signing of goalkeeper Cat Parkhill on Saturday, following Thursday’s trade of Katelyn Rowland.
Parkhill, a Minnesota graduate, started all 20 games for the Gophers her senior season with a 1.24 goals against average. She also had 67 saves for a .728 percentage. Parkhill recorded an 11-7-2 record with 5.2 shutouts.
“I didn’t expect this at all,” Parkhill said. “I am so grateful to have this opportunity and I am going to make the most of it.”
Parkhill went on to work out with the U.S. Olympic Sevens Rugby Team, but returned to soccer about a year ago and has been playing with FC Pacific of the Women’s Professional Soccer League.
“We would like to welcome Cat on board and would like to thank FC Pacific for helping us acquire Cat,” Blues general manager Huw Williams said.
Parkhill joins Nicole Barnhart, a two-time National Women’s Soccer League Goalkeeper of the Year, who has played all seven games for the Blues this season with a 0.86 goals against average and .83 save percentage.
