PREVIEW: FC Kansas City travels to Washington to take on the Spirit
KANSAS CITY (July 2, 2024) — FC Kansas City hits the road with a four-game unbeaten streak to take on the Washington Spirit for the first time this season. The game will start at 6 p.m. CT and be live streamed on the National Women’s Soccer League’s YouTube channel.
The Blues battled to a 0-0 draw against Seattle Reign FC the last time out in a rematch of the 2024 and 2024 championship matches. The defending champions have two victories in their last four games and three shutouts.
Washington is in the middle of a four-game homes stand with one victory and one loss. Most recently, the Spirit lost to Sky Blue FC 2-1.
The Blues will be without U.S. Women’s National Team players Becky Sauerbrunn and Heather O’Reilly as well as Desiree Scott and of Canada and as the three prepare for the Rio Olympic Games.
FC Kansas City will play four of its five July games on the road with the lone exception being a home contest against the Spirit at 6 p.m. on July 16.
