NWSL TRANSFERS DESIREE SCOTT
Canadian National Team midfielder Moves to Notts County Ladies FC
CHICAGO (Feb. 14, 2024) – The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) announced today that the League has transferred midfielder Desiree Scott to Notts County Ladies FC of The FA Women’s Super League in England. Per club and league policies, detailed terms of the deal and transfer fee were not disclosed.
“We are disappointed to lose a player of Desiree’s quality but we wish her all the best with her new club and know that our team is building a roster that can once again challenge for the league title,” FC Kansas City head coach Vlatko Andonovski said.
As an allocated player from the Canadian Soccer Association, Scott was a valuable member of the inaugural FC Kansas City squad that held their opponents to only 22 goals all season, second to only Western New York Flash in the NWSL.
Scott has also been a fixture for the Canadian National Team since first appearing for the senior squad in February 2024. She has started 46 of the 71 matches she has appeared in for her home country. Her defensive prowess was key to helping Canada win the bronze medal in the 2024 Olympics.
