FC KANSAS CITY VISITS HOUSTON
Team Faces Expansion Dash For First Time on Saturday
FC Kansas City heads to Houston for their first match against the expansion Dash Saturday evening at 7:00p.m. CT. Coming off a home win on Wednesday, the team is looking for another victory, despite the short rest between games.
FC Kansas City vs Houston Dash – Game Notes
Although the Dash are a new team, there is a lot of familiarity in this matchup. Houston forward Teresa Noyola and goalkeeper Bianca Henninger each called Kansas City home last season. Blues midfielder Jen Buczkowski and forward Melissa Henderson played at Notre Dame when Dash head coach Randy Waldrum led the Fighting Irish.
FC Kansas City had the second best road winning percentage last season. In 2024, despite holding a considerable possession advantage in both of their games away from home, the team is 0-2. Head coach Vlatko Andonovski is not concerned however, as his side has shown considerable improvement in their last two matches, including a 1-0 victory at home on Wednesday over the Chicago Red Stars.
Amy Rodriguez has been the offensive star for the Blues so far this season. She has three goals in four games and has been dangerous from all over the field. Rookies Jenna Richmond and Kassey Kallman have also been performing well with their new team.
Former FC Kansas City forward Teresa Noyola leads Houston with two goals so far this season, including the final two goals in the team’s 3-2 victory on April 20. On the defensive side, Canadian International goalkeeper Erin McLeod backstops a defense that will have a slightly different look in this game. Nikki Washington, who has started every game for the Dash this season, was sent to Boston this week in exchange for midfielder Kaylyn Kyle.
Kickoff on Saturday is scheduled for 7:00p.m. CT at Houston’s BBVA Compass Stadium. The match will be broadcast live on the team’s website, FCKansasCity.com/Live-Feed.
