Becca Moros has played in all eight matches for the Blues this season

New York City native, Becca Moros is an experienced veteran boasting a career not only across the USA but internationally as well. The Duke University product possesses a thirst for self improvement and a competitive drive that intrinsically motivates her to elevate her game.

After graduating, Moros was drafted in the sixth round (36th overall) of the 2009 WPS Draft by the Washington Freedom for the inaugural season of the WPS. She started the 2024 season with the Freedom making five appearances with three starts. After the team came under new ownership Moros was traded to the Western NY Flash where she played for the remainder of the season.

Before the 2024 season, Moros signed with Sky Blue FC but didn’t get the chance to play, as the league folded. At this point, Moros had the perfect opportunity to try something she had always wanted to do, play overseas.

“We had two players with the Freedom in the WPS that were just next level technically and tactically,” Moros said. “After my first season I went to Japan and got to train and play over there. I fell in love with Japan.”

Becca Moros signed with INAC Kobe Leonessa and played successfully for two seasons before returning to the USA to play in the NWSL. In 2024, the Portland Thorns FC acquired Moros before coming to Kansas City to play with the Blues.

Moros quickly got a feel for her new home when she arrived to Kansas City in March.

“I am excited about being in Kansas City. I have enjoyed the community so much already and look forward to experiencing all it has to offer,” Moros shared.

When reflecting on her career, Moros has a mature outlook on the influence of being a professional athlete.

“Soccer has forced me to grow in so many ways and that’s easily the best thing about it.” Moros shared. “My teammates, the camaraderie and ability to just focus on one thing and continue to turn over stones and improve have made me better in everything I do. I have a different appreciation for how you learn and the amount of time it takes to master new things.”

Make sure to watch Becca Moros and FC Kansas City take on the Portland Thorns this Friday at Providence Park. The match will be streamed live on YouTube and in-game updates can be followed on Twitter @BluesGameday.
