A total of 24 players reported to camp today


KANSAS CITY (March 14, 2024) - FC Kansas City stepped on the field for the first time this year as the team opened up preseason this morning at the Overland Park Soccer Complex in preparation for the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).

Coach Vlatko Andonovski’s team will practice all week before visiting their old home at the University of Missouri – Kansas City to face the Kangaroos this Sunday for their first preseason contest at Durwood Stadium.

FC Kansas City’s preseason roster features a total of 12 returning players from the 2024 team, including US Women’s National Team players Becky Sauerbrunn and Heather O’Reilly as well as league-leading goalkeeper Nicole Barnhart.

Also in camp, all four 2024 NWSL College Draft picks Katie Bowen, Alex Arlitt, Brianne Reed, and Alexa Newfield are joined by new additions Amanda Frisbie, Brittany Taylor, Tiffany McCarty.

Along with Sauerbrunn and O’Reilly, Canada international Desiree Scott will report to camp this Wednesday.

Forward Amy Rodriguez, who will miss the season due to pregnancy, will not report in Kansas City, while teammate Sydney Leroux, also pregnant, is working on her conditioning with the club during the preseason

The back-to-back champions will also play preseason games against Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and Minnesota. For the full preseason schedule, click here.
