FCKC visits Nebraska in fourth preseason contest this Saturday


KANSAS CITY (March 29, 2023) – FC Kansas City announced its 25-player updated roster today as the team kicked off week three of preseason.

Defender Becky Sauerbrunn and midfielder Heather O’Reilly have rejoined the U.S. Women’s National Team in Orlando, Florida, while defender Katie Bowen returned to the University of North Carolina to complete her Bachelor’s Degree; she will rejoin the team at the end of the semester. All three have been listed as out-of-market contracted players.

Joining the team as a non-roster preseason invitee is former FC Kansas City and Canada Women’s National Team defender Lauren Sesselmann. In addition, defenders Brianne Reed and Alex Arlitt as well as midfielder Alexa Newfield remain with the team after being selected by the Blues in the 2023 NWSL College Draft.

Goalkeeper Kelsey Brouwer and 2023 NWSL College Draft picks Jessie Ayers and Kaysie Clark have departed Coach Vlatko Andonovski’s team as the club prepares its visit to the University of Nebraska on Saturday.
