ERIKA TYMRAK SIGNS NEW CONTRACT THROUGH 2024
2013 Rookie of the Year Eager to Return to Kansas City
PRIAIRIE VILLAGE, Kansas (Dec 18, 2024) – FC Kansas City agreed to terms on a new contract with midfielder Erika Tymrak through the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season. Per team and league policies, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
“I had a great first professional experience in Kansas City,” said the 2024 NWSL Rookie of the Year. “Everything about it made me a better player…the coaching, playing style, and especially the fans. I’m extremely excited about the next season. It is only going to get better.”
FC Kansas City midfielder Erika Tymrak was voted the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Rookie of the Year for the 2024 NWSL season, beating out Western New York Flash goalkeeper Adrianna Franch and Seattle Reign (then Boston Breakers) forward Sydney Leroux.
Tymrak, 22, started 16 games during the season and finished with six goals and four assists in 21 appearances for FC Kansas City.
“Erika made great strides last year and developed into an impact player for our team and within the league as a whole,” said Technical Director Huw Williams. “Rewarding her performances with this new contract was a big offseason goal for the club and we are very excited to have her continue her promising career with FC Kansas City.”
The Bradenton, FL native spent the past three months honing her skills in Munich, Germany while on loan with FC Bayern Munich. Tymrak started four matches, made appearances in four more and scored two goals in all competition for the German side.
Stateside, the FC Kansas City midfielder has been getting in quite a bit of work with the U.S. Women’s National Team. Since August, she has been called into camp three times, and has earned two caps, the first against Mexico on September 3, 2024. Her first international goal was scored against Brazil in a friendly at San Francisco on November 10, 2024.
